Highly Touted Kirkpatrick Verbals To UNM

Houston Aldine High School product LC Kirkpatrick had eight scholarship offers on the table, but made only two of his planned five visits before deciding where his future was best suited for him. After visiting the University of New Mexico last weekend and talking it over with his parents and his defensive line coach when he returned to Texas, Kirkpatrick determined his future was clad in the cherry and silver of New Mexico.
"It is a done deal," Kirkpatrick said about his commitment to New Mexico.

Kirkpatrick had a solid year individually recording 35 solo tackles, 25 assists, four sacks, five quarterback hurries and two caused fumbles. He was also a finalist for the Houston-area Defensive Player of the Year presented by the Touchdown Club and defensive player of the year for Aldine High School. He made the Houston Chronicle Area Top 10 Players list. He was also first team all-district and he was a Texas State Player of the Year finalist.
Aldine HS went 6-5 with a first round playoff loss. Kirkpatrick boasts a 4.8 second forty yard dash time, a 390-pound bench press, and a 500-pound squat. He is also ranked as a 3-Star Rivals100.com rating and No. 20 in the Rivals100.com position rankings.
The 6-foot, 3-inch, 255-pound defensive end was also being courted in the recruiting process by Houston, LSU, Texas A&M and Tulsa. New Mexico was the only other school Kirkpatrick visited, in addition to the visit to Iowa, before making his decision. He had planned to take visits to Houston, Baylor and Grambling before making his decision, but has cancelled plans for visits to those schools.
"We Will Never Forget."
